We are excited to be advertising for a part timeClinical Team Manager to support our new Managing Neurodiversity pathway ofcare in North Devon.

Main duties of the job

To provide day-to-day operational management of theprovision of care and treatment within the neurodiversity clinicalpathway. To line manage a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians working withinthe pathway. To provide specialist clinical interventions and advice asrequired. To provide leadership to the clinical team ensuring the efficient andeffective delivery of the service. The post holder will manage the effectiveoperational delivery of the service in collaboration with senior clinicians, clinicalleads, and other managers.

To ensure the provision of high quality, safe, andresponsive community-integrated health care to children, young people,parents/carers, and professionals according to need.

To ensure the service is based on best practice andevidence, is outcomes focussed and audit and routine outcome monitoring are usedto improve clinical effectiveness and outcomes for children and young people.

To provide specialist clinical interventions, andadvice to professionals internally and externally.

Ensure that care and treatment is delivered inresponse to local need in partnership with communities and other localservices.

To be an integralpart of the locality leadership team, collaboratively driving the overallservice strategy, objectives, vision and ambitions and contributing totransformational change and continuous service improvement

About us

Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.

CFHD provides integrated care and treatment for children and young people across physical and mental health which are provided by Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. We are working closely with other organisations and providers to ensure we deliver locality and county-wide based integrated access to all of our services, based on the i-Thrive Framework.

CFHD works closely with our local universities of Plymouth, Exeter & the Peninsula Medical School where we support students in clinical training placements and in addition support our own staff to undertake post graduate training.

Our integrated care and treatment has been developed and refined in partnership with children, young people and their families/carers.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Provide effective collaborative leadership and day to dayoperational management of the clinical team

Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of evidence basedclinical care including triage, assessment, clinical formulation and careplanning, treatment, and discharge of children and young people

Ensure the service is delivered in partnershipwith other clinical pathways within the locality, health specialties andpartner organisations across health, education, social care and the voluntarysector.

Ensurethe service is delivered in partnership with children, young people and theirparents/ carers, ensuring their active participation is facilitated andfeedback elicited, considered and acted-upon.

In partnership with the Operations Manager, ensure that clinical andnon-clinical risks within the pathway are identified and managed effectively.

To maintain systems designed to monitor demand and maintain optimal clinicalcapacity within the team

To ensure data is captured and used to drive effective service delivery andimprovement

Work collaboratively with other leaders (professional, clinical andoperational), to maintain a culture within the service of excellence inclinical standards and safety.

Work with other Team Managers across the multi-agency system of childrensservices in the locality to ensure the clinical pathway is delivered as part ofan integrated system of care, to improve health outcomes for children and youngpeople.

Ensure clinical provision in the pathway is delivered to meet key performancetargets

Ensure robust financial management of the teams activities

Provide supervision, operational management and support to clinicians with theability to demonstrate compassionate leadership, to understand and follow HR policiesand procedures, ensure staff wellbeing and development and adopt acollaborative approach to engage staff with a range of skills and communicationneeds.

Attend, participate and chair relevant meetings with the ability to presentinformation in a range of formats, adapting communication to meet the needs ofothers.

To deputise for the Operations Manager as required.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and across agencies. Experience of delivering a clinical practice within the area of specialty for children with complex health conditions - undertaking specialist assessment and treatment interventions for children and young people with complex health problems Experience of supervising others and developing positive supervisory relationships with healthcare professionals. Experience in managing HR and recruitment processes including staff appraisals, performance and sickness management. Experience of delivering healthcare within an equalities and human rights framework Experience of initiating, organising and planning inter-agency meetings aimed at setting in place a treatment package tailored to the individual needs of a child/young person. Experience in involving service users as active partners in the delivery and or design of services Experience of engagement in service development and quality improvement Experience of using data to improve services

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Essential

Specialist skill in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, highly complex, technical and/or clinically sensitive information to children/young people and families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the service, adapting your approach according to the individual needs of the audience. Ability to integrate complex clinical information into a coherent formulation. The ability to work as an autonomous professional, to take on responsibility, make decisions under pressure and seek support as appropriate. Ability to review, analyse and report on information and key data relating to the teams performance, capacity or activity. The ability to plan and complete operational leadership tasks as directed and within reasonable timescales. Ability to develop and implement systems to manage capacity and demand - patient flow, staff workloads.

Qualifications

Essential

A professional mental health qualification RMN, Social Work Degree, BSc/Diploma in OT, or equivalent. Additional specialist training and qualification to post graduate diploma level or equivalent in supervision and/or leadership skills. Professional registration/accreditation with a recognised body, NMC, HCPC, Social Work England, UKCP, BABCP Evidence of relevant CPD.
