Information Technology has a global footprint operating across London, Asia (Shanghai & Singapore), and New York. IT comprises of 5 core areas namely Global Markets IT (FICE & Commodities/Operations/Market Services Technology), Global Production Services, Business Management, Control IT/ Tech Risk IT and Finance and Risk IT.

Job Purpose

The Murex Engineer will join the GM IT Engineering team and play a crucial role in maintaining the CI toolset for the Murex platform and ecosystem.
The GM IT Engineering team are responsible for defining and implementing the software development lifecycle processes for the Murex platform, ensuring efficient code and configuration development while reducing errors, improving the stability and code quality of every release. They are responsible for collaborating with the Murex vendor and the internal IT teams to roll out new systems and implement the ongoing tooling and process improvements as required.
This opportunity will also provide a detailed overview of technology within our Global Markets IT division and an opportunity to quickly build up a broad understanding of the Global Markets division and diverse range of banking products.
The focus will be around the Murex platform and its associated ecosystem however the CI/CD principles will be applied to other applications supported by the wider GM IT team.
A combination of in-house/formal training will be provided as required depending on the successful candidate's profile.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

-Configure the Murex platform's CI tooling
-Monitor the performance of CI pipelines
-Resolve support requests and incidents according to the bank's procedures
-Assist RTB and CTB teams with education and support on the bank's CI tool set.
-Maintain the Murex platform's CI tooling including bug fixing, upgrades and enhancements as requested
-Analyze any issues raised by the support and change teams and where necessary engage with the relevant vendors and communities to resolve
-Actively identify inefficiencies and errors and provide solutions
-Contribute and enrich the team's knowledge base
-Promote the use of the CI tooling across the Murex team(s) and the wider GM IT team.
-Collaborate with team members, the wider Murex team and other IT teams in the bank.
-Continuously learn about the latest trends in the market
-Investigating new tools/technologies/methodologies to continuously improve and mature the teams' processes.


Preferred Qualifications and Experience

-Degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or related discipline
-At least 5 years experience working within a technology team in the financial sector required
-At least 2 years working in a CI/CD environment
-Hands on Murex experience/knowledge is preferred (technically and functionally)
-Experience of cloud implementations is a plus
-Strong basic technical skills such as XML/XLST, RDMS/SQL, Excel, Unix
-Proficiency in CI tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.
-Good understanding of version control systems such as GIT
-Good scripting language skills such as Java, Groovy, Python, shell scripting, etc.
-Interfacing skills are a plus e.g. REST APIs
