This is an exciting time to join the radiology department as we are helping to shape the care of our patients in the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Newmarket, and our new West Suffolk Hospital.Successful candidates will be based at Newmarket CDC but will undertake a period of induction and training at West Suffolk Hospital whilst being supported by your nursing and imaging assistant colleagues to achieve your care certificate.
Main duties of the job
As an imaging assistant you will provide invaluable support to your patients and colleagues, working closely with our radiologists and sonographers, making a positive difference to our patients experience in the Radiology Department here at West Suffolk Hospital and in Newmarket Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). You will ensure the smooth running of diagnostic ultrasound lists liaising and communicating effectively with the multi-disciplinary team in a demanding and busy environment. As you gain knowledge, experience, and confidence in running an ultrasound list you will assist in recording details of the ultrasound examination under the guidance of the Sonographer. You will also achieve several competencies whilst working at West Suffolk Hospital ensuring you feel confident and able to fulfil the demands of your role. You will also be supported to learn the trusts IT systems namely e-care and CRIS.

As the staffing levels increase at Newmarket CDC, we also aim to provide a 12hr service Monday-Sunday 0800hrs-2000hrs to ensure patients can access timely diagnostics whilst being supported by our team of Imaging Assistants.

oGood level of written Language and IT skills oNVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or has equivalent clinical experience oEvidence of ongoing CPD
