This position is key in our Business Systems department, with the main function being day to day maintenance of the RBLI cloud infrastructure, to recommend improvement projects and support their implementation. The team is responsible for providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support for network and IT services, implementing IT projects and data engineering service. The team is overseen by the Assistant Director of Risk and Compliance, who holds overall responsibility for the performance.  The team itself is small and close-knit, with a diverse group of people. 

As the Principal Engineer, this position will manage the standards used to deliver the RBLI Business systems helpdesk, working to formal methods of service delivery.

To architect the RBLI networks, leading on projects as required to effect agreed change and improvement.

Technical skills manage cloud-based systems for RBLI using Azure and Office 365. Taking responsibility for setup, security, training, and administration where needed for these systems.

Skills Required for the Role:

Essential:

  • Microsoft AZ 900 Azure fundamentals
  • knowledge of relevant cloud technologies, technical systems & tooling.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in working in the implementation of Cloud based networks
  • Experience of Administering, managing and troubleshooting SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive along with Exchange Online.
  • Experience with VM  Configuration and Deployment
  • Azure files experience
  • Experience of managing organisation file storage

Desirable:

  • Microsoft AZ Azure 104 Administrator
  • Knowledge of Formal standards for architectural design, such as TOGAF and ITIL 4
  • Familiar with Microsoft Azure Cloud
  • Implementation experience of ITIL or similar methodology
  • Intune Laptop deployment Experience
  • Experience of physical network management
  • Full Driving Licence held
