Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is available to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this position ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational development of students across various subjects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Classroom Support: Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring students are engaged and understand the material.
- One-on-One Tutoring: Providing individual support to students who need extra help, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
- Small Group Work: Leading small group sessions to focus on specific areas of the curriculum, facilitating a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
- Resource Development: Assisting in the creation and preparation of teaching materials and resources to support lessons and student learning.
- Student Mentoring: Acting as a mentor to students, offering academic guidance and emotional support to help them navigate their educational journey.
- Assessment Assistance: Helping with the marking and assessment of student work, providing feedback and tracking student progress.
- Behaviour Management: Supporting the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, adhering to the school's behaviour policies.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Participating in and supporting extra-curricular activities, encouraging student involvement and enthusiasm.
- Administrative Support: Assisting with various administrative tasks related to classroom management and student records.
Requirements:
- A degree in any subject.
- A passion for education and a desire to support student learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to different classroom environments.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
- Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
