Autism Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Supply / Temporary

Pay Rates: £83.33 - £90.00 per day

Location: North Lincolnshire – Scunthorpe

GSL Education Lincolnshire, are seeking to employ several Autism Teaching Assistants to work within SEN Schools, Alternative Provisions and Secondary Schools. You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, who have been diagnosed with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties. As well as offering general classroom support, you will be following tailored interventions for pupils under your care.

As the ideal candidate you should:

  • Have at least 6 months of experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting adults with Autism
  • Have Special Needs (SEN) experience, with a range of additional needs including SEMH and severe learning difficulties desirable
  • Be available on a full-time basis, or part time if you have set days available each week
  • Be enthusiastic, charismatic and be confident in your approach to managing behaviour
  • Have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs
