This is a flexible full time fixed term locum post in general adult psychiatry for the thriving city of Perth situated in the very heart of Scotland.

The post as described is a full time community based post, although we would also welcome applications from candidates interested in working on a part-time basis. We would also encourage applications from candidates interested in a post working across both community and acute in-patient settings, so providing continuity of consultant care.

Acute inpatient beds are within modern reprovided facilities within the Murray Royal Hospital, Perth. In addition opportunities to undertake some work activities from home may be available through remote working and video based ‘Near-me’ technologies.

This post is part of the wider Perth and Kinross Mental Health Service which consists of 3 Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) and supporting Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT). Full tertiary support for patients is available through local and Taysidewide specialist mental health services. The Perth City CMHT is a full multidisciplinary team with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and senior pharmacist supporting the senior medical staff.

Tayside covers a large area of central Scotland, from the stunning Perthshire mountains and glens to the productive rural farmlands of central Perthshire and Angus. The historic cities of Perth and Dundee service the region. A truly special place to live and work with a vast range of affordable housing, excellent schools and superb leisure opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast.
