The Role

We are currently looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to lead our Hardware & Software team in our Livingston office.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the core technology and activities of the functional engineering team within Plexus Engineering Solutions. Your role will involve actively contributing to shaping the team's culture and the overall site environment.

Additionally, you will lead high-interest projects that hold significant importance for the site.

You will also take charge of temporary or ad hoc projects that may not fall under the responsibilities of a specific organization within the site, and may require temporary assignment of a leader to address unique site requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Quality Execution: Ensures technical success of programs by understanding customer needs, staffing programs with appropriate resourcing, and driving continuous improvement of tools and processes. Understands and is able to identify leading indicators of project challenges, and takes mitigating actions as necessary. Maintains and improves the Quality Management System through process ownership and CAPA resolution.Talent Acquisition and Development: Expands and grows technical and leadership competencies by hiring diverse and high potential talent that enhances our people, product and process capabilities. Establishes and achieves group growth objectives through headcount growth and upskilling employee skillsets needed to support ongoing customer demands.Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.Cost Management: Drives non-billable hours optimization (NBHO), minimizing administrative tasks and maximizing value-add activities within functional team. Manages headcount and flex staffing model effectively to meet needs of customers and business. Drives CapEx planning for functional team.Project Management: Effectively manages the team resources and leads company projects and/or PLXS-ENG customer projects to a successful execution. This includes partnering with the engineering team to identify solutions to meet the project needs. Manages expectations regarding project scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, and any changes to the original proposal.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required; a Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred.Seven (7) years of related experience is required; Two (2) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred.Two (2) years of Project Management experience, and Two (2) years’ experience with Plexus (or equivalent service industry) is preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
