Freelance - Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and creative Mechanical Design engineer to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, quickly assimilating new information and skills within a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee technical solutions, guiding and supporting junior engineers to achieve project goals.
- Manage the financial and commercial aspects of projects, including team selection and organisation, budget management, timelines, client communication, and presentations.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients and colleagues.
- Bring a high level of enthusiasm and dedication to your work, sharing our team’s passion for the design and delivery of new products.
- A 1st or Upper 2nd class degree in mechanical engineering from a respected institution, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience in a product design or development role, with a strong command of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and computational techniques to deliver practical product solutions across diverse manufacturing processes and materials.
- A strong track record of delivering high-quality outcomes on varied projects and of managing client relationships effectively.
- Knowledge and experience of both low-volume rapid prototyping technologies and high-volume production processes, such as injection moulding.
- Able to work on-site at our Warwick studios, with eligibility to work in the UK.
- A positive and proactive attitude, setting high standards and inspiring both colleagues and clients.
