Roehampton Gate School (RGS) is a school for autistic young people age 7-19 working at broadly age -related expectations, who require additional nurture and support for their anxiety, in order to fulfil their potential. We are looking for an experienced Headteacher, someone who has lead successful teams in SEN settings with complex learners. Contract Length : 4 months
Start Date : September (Full Time)
The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN, along with the following characteristics:
Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
Organisation – You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.
Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital
