• Analyzes functionalbusiness requirements and design specifications for developingprograms for desktop and distributed environments which includespersonal computers client server environments and browserbased orntier environments. Translates detailed design into computersoftware.
• Tests debugs and refines thecomputer software to produce the required product. Preparesrequired documentation including both programlevel and userleveldocumentation. Enhances software to reduce operating time orimprove efficiency.
• Primary skill sets includeknowledge of SOLARIS and Windows operating systems; Oracle andMicrosoft SQL Server databases; Microsoft Visual Studio .NET andOracle Internet Development tools; Visual Basic Java and .NETprogramming languages; Visual Basic Script JavaScript JSPs EJBs XMLand HTML.
• Secondary skill sets includeknowledge of Microsofts Internet Information Server (IIS) SecureSocket Layers (SSL) to provide the functionality of encryption anddecryption of data; Object Oriented and UML methodologies;knowledge of other State software standards for desktop anddistributed systems.
• Requires a minimum of 1year of current experience in this job class.
• Summary: Under general supervision is responsible forprofessional applications computer programming work of considerabledifficulty and computer systems design work of average difficulty;and performs related work as required.
