Job summary

Are you interested in helping set up and deliver Cardiorespiratory services at Selby Hospital? This is part of the Community Diagnostic Centre project and will aim to make diagnostics more accessible to a large population of patients.

We are looking for someone with an interest in Cardiology, ECGs and a passion for helping others. The job will include the fitting of ECG monitors, BP monitors and performing 12 lead ECG's. The majority of the work will be undertaken at Selby Hospital but some of the training will occur at York and there may be the opportunity to work at the main hospital site on occasion.

Main duties of the job

Prepare patients and perform 12 lead ECG in accordance with SCST specifications and recommendations. Fit and remove Ambulatory ECG and BP monitors, providing the patient with clear instructions and advice relating to the period of monitoring and documenting of symptoms. Deliver first class patient care, ensuring patients are welcomed in a professional manner, explaining the procedure as required. Recognise waveforms and abnormalities on an ECG. Recognise normal and abnormal BP measurements. Assist in the smooth flow of clinical and administrative work within the clinic. Help train student Cardiac Physiologists in the above duties.
