Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

The shift pattern is Monday - Friday 9-5pm.

We are advertising for 2 Principal Clinical or Counselling Psychologists (2.0wte, permanent) to join the Psychology service within our Renfrewshire Adult Community Mental Health Services. The post holders will be expected to deliver care in the Renfrewshire Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) and a key component of these posts will involve leading on the clinical governance role in the delivery of low intensity psychological therapies within this team.

The post holder will provide a high quality psychological assessment and therapy service in the field of adult mental health, particularly working with complex cases, and contributing to our ongoing development work with regards to pathways for individuals presenting with complex trauma, emotionally unstable personality disorder or psychosis. The post holders would be expected to be enthusiastic about multi-disciplinary working, and feel confident about working as an integral member of a large service. Working closely with local Psychology colleagues, you will support the Joint Community Services Manager and the Professional Lead for Psychology locally in fulfilling their role and contributing to our delivery in relation to the 5 year strategy and our local psychological therapies plans.

The post holders will provide specialist clinical supervision and training to MDT staff delivering psychologically-based interventions within the service. The post holders will contribute to service audit and evaluation. The post holders will receive support and supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Applicants should have post-graduate doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996), post-doctoral clinical experience and training, and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. Post-qualification experience in Adult Mental Health and experience in the planning, development and delivery of evidence-based groups is desirable.
