A highly reputable SEMH School Group is seeking a dedicated and passionate Humanities Teacher to join the permanent staff at their independent, special school in Stockton-On-Tees. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Humanities lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH needs.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to the diverse abilities of students.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to teaching and learning.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students, helping them to develop socially and emotionally as well as academically.
- Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in a Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Education).
- Proven experience teaching Humanities at the secondary school level.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a special education setting is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
