As a Drivers Mate based at our North East Depot, you get to be part of a supportive team and play an active part in challenging the climate crisis.


The job


  • Accompanying the driver on daily rounds throughout our region, delivering fresh cooking oil to restaurants and collecting waste cooking oil to be loaded back onto the lorry
  • Interacting with up to 50 customers a day, providing an effective and helpful service
  • Aiding the driver to locate any new locations that require delivery
  • Filling out round sheets and invoices with quantities and prices
  • Unloading used cooking oil from the vehicles back in the yard
  • Loading vehicles with fresh stock ready for the next day
  • Working as part of a team to ensure the site runs efficiently and effectively

We will be looking for:


  • Hardworking people with the desire to progress and gain knowledge
  • Reliable attitude
  • Ability to get to and from depot in line with working hours
  • Due to working hours being above 40 per week candidates must be 18 or above
  • Must be able to commit to these dates


Please note, this role involves early hours, starting between 04:00 and 06:00 am


As the role can involve moving and carrying weights in excess of 20kgs, we will provide manual handling training and medical screening to the successful candidate however please be aware that there is heavy lifting involved.
