Cammell Lairds are recruiting for a Assistant Buyer vacancies within the Procurement Function.

Role Description:

Activities and responsibilities may include the following:

Placing low risk/transactional purchase orders for all functions and projects within the business.

Inputting orders into the business system, Sage X3

Making credit card payments for one off type requirements.

Chasing suppliers for orders past estimated/due delivery date.

Securing quotes from suppliers.

Engaging with internal customers and colleagues from the wider business

Onboarding new suppliers following the new supplier approval process.

Maintaining spreadsheets and ensuring all data is up to date.

Approving invoices for payment.

General Ad hoc admin.

The ideal candidate will have 1 years' experience within a similar role and/or have experience of working in an engineering environment.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at A-C grade (or equivalent).

Ability to communicate effectively.

Able to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to work well under pressure.

A self-starter who can work with minimal direction.

An ability to manage the workload and multi-task.

Familiar with using/inputting into a business system.

Be reactive and flexible to support the changing priorities of the business.

A team player.

Disciplined in record keeping and compliance.

Knows when to ask for support/help/guidance from the wider functional team.

Willing to help with/be exposed to other tasks outside of their role description to broaden their experience/learning/development.
