DescriptionBased in our Coventry office (every day for the first 4 weeks and, thereafter, hybrid) you will work in an exciting, high paced Infrastructure Engineering team as a dedicated Network Engineer, providing support escalation for internal customers and supporting internal and production network at both Data Centres, Cloud Platforms and remote offices. You will report directly to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager in a newly formed SME team.

Responsible for the day-to-day stability, improvements, network related projects and controlled changes of ParentPay Group's Internal and Production networks across multiple sites and data centres.

As a Subject Matter Expert within the Infrastructure Engineering team, you will use your knowledge and skills to ensure we maintain SLA targets for our systems and our customers. 

Take a security-first approach to systems and ensure any vulnerabilities reported are resolved within agreed SLAs and timeframes. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, improve and modify network configuration including firewalls and switches as required by the business needs
  • Assist the Network Analyst, Service Ops team and Engineering teams with escalated problems
  • Identify opportunities to improve our service to our customer base, so that SLA's are exceeded, and customer feedback is consistently high
  • Provide assistance to colleagues both within and outside of the Engineering team for any issues related to our application and platforms
  • Improve on existing systems and capacity monitoring
  • Adhere to all internal processes (change/incident/problem etc) as set out by the IT department
  • Ensure all aspects of the system are adequately documented and reviewed


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Strong Cisco Networking skills (ASA’s, Switches, Firepower(FTD) ) - CCNA or equivalent. 
  • Good extended network administration experience, Load balancers, VMWare, WAN, WLAN, and LAN configurations, network problem solving.
  • SDWAN Experience (Juniper SRX )
  • Excellent understanding of all DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP 
  • Experience working in a change control environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to interpret fault descriptions provided by customers or internal escalations and translate these into resolutions
  • ITSM experience i.e. server desk plus, ServiceNow
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
Good knowledge of any of the below would also be advantageous:
  • Configuration and support of VMWare ESX environments
  • Microsoft SQL server experience
  • Windows Server and desktop management and configuration
  • Network Load Balancers
  • Hosting
  • Network monitoring software experience eg, Solarwinds, PRTG, Logic Monitor
  • Enterprise storage
