Bristol, United Kingdom EDF Full time

As our next Project Delivery Manager, you'll lead the charge in implementing cutting-edge business capabilities for the UK's New Nuclear Builds, including projects at HPC and SZC. With this, you’ll ensure the seamless integration of Information Systems (IS) and Business Change Projects, meeting time, cost, and quality benchmarks with precision and flair. With your strategic planning and hands-on management, you'll steer projects to success, driving innovation and efficiency every step of the way.

Pay, benefits and culture

In addition to offering Circa £60,000 depending on experience, we offer flexible benefits that support our employees’ physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Examples include: a market-leading company pension scheme, a bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support and employee discounts.

At EDF, everyone is welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We would like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We are a disability confident employer and will do all we can to support you through your recruitment journey with us. If you would like to talk about adjustments, or support you may need, please note this within your application.

We will value the difference you bring and give you opportunities to thrive and succeed.

What you will be doing…

As the Project Delivery Manager, you'll be the key player in building strong connections with Project Sponsors, tackling escalated issues and risks head-on. You’ll spearhead our promises made in the Project Initiation Document (PID) ensuring they are not just met, but exceeded, driving success for projects at HPC and SZC. With your strategic approach, you'll navigate the delicate balance between sticking to standards and procedures while making calculated deviations to optimise outcomes. Plus, you'll have the authority to make impactful decisions within the project's budget, with larger calls elevated to the Programme Manager.

Other roles and responsibilities also include:

Lead the charge in shaping, organising, and documenting IS projects to meet time, cost, and quality benchmarks, all while adhering to agreed delivery methods and standards that set the stage for success. Craft a compelling Project Initiation Document that not only garners Sponsor sign-off but also sets clear expectations regarding cost, timelines, and resources, effectively serving as a blueprint for project success. Ensure that every facet of project workstreams, from detailed design to post go-live support, aligns seamlessly with agreed quality criteria, overseeing a journey of excellence throughout the project lifecycle. Take an active role in monitoring and managing project progress, budget, risks, and more, swiftly escalating any deviations or challenges to the IS Delivery Manager or Project Sponsor as needed. Uphold NNB standards and procedures with unwavering diligence, ensuring that commitments are met without compromising project quality. Spearhead the delivery of accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders, keeping the Project Board, PMO, and NNB senior management in the loop. Cultivate robust stakeholder relationships through a carefully crafted engagement plan, fostering buy-in, involvement, and commitment from key players at every turn. Collaborate with fellow project delivery managers and programme managers to identify and leverage best practices, enriching the project landscape with shared wisdom and expertise.

Who you are…

To meet the minimum requirements for this role, you should be able to:

Execute the planning, preparation, delivery, and evaluation of workshops with stakeholders to facilitate discussions and reach consensus. Perform an Intelligent Customer Oversight role in your technical specialty throughout the project delivery lifecycle. Conduct assurance reviews for stage containment and ensure compliance with standards. Successfully lead and manage third parties to meet required standards and expectations. Scope clear project outcomes, especially in cases where objectives are unclear to stakeholders. Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing requirements. Make complex risk-based decisions with confidence and sound judgment. Actively foster collaboration across a program of work involving multiple delivery partners.
