Job summary

We are looking to recruit a qualified GP towork alongside our existing clinical team. The successful candidate will have a nominal patient list,complete AccuRx triage, telephone consultations, duty doctor sessions and routine appointments, with a share of a small number of home visits.

We are a friendly, supportive, hardworking,andinnovative team who enjoy working together.

We have an excellent clinical skills mix of GPs and highly trained nurses who aresupported by our leadership and administration team.

Duty doctors areaccessible throughout the week to offer advice and support.

We have regular Practice, clinical and CPD meetingsthat offer information, guidance, and support to all staff in the team.

The successful candidate will communicate welland provide comprehensive care to meet the needs of our registered patients.

Job Overview:

GP Training Practice with three Trainers Geared towardsreducing GP workload Structured working pattern with pre-bookable andsame-day slots Medical Secretary and Admin team supporting GPs Pleasantdemographic Talented MDT with excellent coverage from additional PCN roles Stable Partnership no retirements in coming years 4 or more sessions perweek Weekly admin block 24 new patient contacts per day AM session / PM session 1 or 2 home visits Specialisms encouraged

Main duties of the job

In accordancewith the Practice timetable and as agreed with the successful candidate, thepost-holder will make them self available to undertake a variety of dutiesincluding surgery consultations, telephone consultations, queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing withqueries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems,whether self-referred or referred from other health professionals.Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and un-diagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessIn consultation with patients and in line with current practice diseasemanagement protocols, developing care plans for healthProviding counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring toother health and care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notesCollect data for audit purposesCompile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions(avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (orgenerically) whenever this is clinically appropriateThe post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal dutiesand responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary careUndertake pro-rata extended hour commitment

The post-holder will manage a caseload and dealwith a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring thehighest standards of care for our patients.
