Relief Weighbridge Operative

Due to an increased workload and demand we are currently recruiting for a Weighbridge Operative to join the team within our, typically covering our quarries in Low Plains, Moota, Roan Edge, Shap and Carlise Asphalt Plant.

The successful candidate will effectively and efficiently carry out all duties associated with the operation and manning of the weighbridge, including transport and customer co-ordination for a busy framework on the strategic network. 

Please be aware that the role will involve shift working that includes days/nights and weekends so you should be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work and be able to remain calm under pressure. 

Key Responsibilities
Booking in and out of all vehicles on sites (multiple).Directing goods inwards to correct stockpile/location and liaison with site teamControlling the entry to site of all customers, vehicles and visitorsEnsure the general working of the weighbridge area, including the upkeep and cleanliness of equipment and workstations.Following training, undertaking a variety of site inspections (Environmental and/or Health and Safety), reporting defects and issues to the site managerCustomer ServiceCustomer Liaison on any item that may affect customer service, including keeping customers aware of any delaysEnsure customer accounts in order before customer permitted to loadAsphalt Plant Programming and transport co-ordination across multiple sites when working on the network
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Excellent communication skills including oral communication, especially with customers on the telephone as well as in person with delivery personnel and drivers.Organised and analytical in order to successfully operate the Weighbridge computer packageConfidence and Interpersonal skills are important in order to deal with the diverse range of contacts. Team player and great organiser who can think logically and critically during a demanding workloadPrevious experience in this type of role would be a distinct advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate Good numeracy skills are required for quick and accurate data processing. Key Attributes/Behavioural CompetenceInterpersonal SkillsCommunication skills – both written and oralOrganised in work duties and information recordingAdaptable and FlexibleSelf-MotivatedSets and maintains good standards of workWillingness to learn elements of other plant operations
