Job summary

The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHSTrust is currently inviting applications from enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurses to joinour friendly and forward thinking Post Anaesthetic Care Units (PACU). This comes as a result of significant financial investment to bring staffing levels in line with AFPP guidance.

This opportunity would suit bothnewly qualified and experienced applicants as an excellent mentoring and/orpreceptorship programme is provided for the successful candidates.

The Trust has 25 general theatres across 3 hospital sites in Wakefield, Pontefract andDewsbury, providing a dynamic and challenging range of clinical specialities, including paediatrics. All acute surgery and trauma is now centralised on the Pinderfieldssite in Wakefield.

Full and part time posts areavailable which includes a commitment to night rotation, bank holiday andweekend working and participation in an On Call rota (depending on site).

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality, skilled nursing care to patients following anaesthesia and surgery. Continually monitor and evaluate the patient's condition To recognise and react to complications during the recovery period Work closely with the Patient Flow Team to deliver a seamless transition from PACU to ward To undertake training relevant to the role To comply with Trust Policies and Procedures

Maintaining up to dateknowledge of current nursing issues/practices.

Working as aregistered nurse, without direct supervision in the absence of the Lead Nurse wherenecessary.
