Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to be responsible with analysis and research of deals, for the ICBC and China Solutions desk. The role will be coordinated and supervised by a senior member of the team with input from trading, sales, finance and legal.

Key Responsibilities

Perform analysis and due diligence on transactions and clients
Prepare approval papers including internal management papers, STFs and credit papers
Prepare client and internal presentations (powerpoint)
Prepare pricing spreadsheets
Liaise with control functions
Work with other groups, trading desks (including Commodities, FX and Credit Trading), and ICBC affiliates
Research on financial and operational performance of existing and potential new clients including understanding key drivers and risks associated with relevant projects and counterparities of Global Markets
Analyse company accounts and capital structure and, where required prepare annual reviews of client relationshps to support strategic planning, summarise client's key challenges and the strategic objectives of the CEO and CFO.
Summarise and comment on relevant financial data and help identify specific client needs where the bank's products could provide solutions. In addition, gather relevant information on relationships of the client with the bank's shareholders.
Maintain an awareness of and comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to ICBC Standard Bank
Represent the bank and its interests to clients
Ensure adherence to all group standards / policies

Preferred Qualifications and experience

A degree or equivalent
Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally Financial Services
Experience of working with client in an origination or structuring capacity
Experience of financial analysis
Experience of basic fixed income derivatives
Experience of Excel and creation of Excel spreadsheets/models
Ability to interpret Finance policies to translate financial calculations into excel pricing sheets
Interpreting and drafting of term sheets
Specific knowledge of the energy, resources and industrials sectors would be helpful
Preparing Powerpoint presentations
Knowledge, technical skills and expertise
Business knowledge
Banking knowledge
IT skills
Chinese language skills (Mandarin)
