Salary: £140 - £245 per day

GSL Education is seeking a passionate and qualified Science Teacher to join a prestigious secondary school in Colchester. This full-time role begins in September and offers the opportunity to inspire students and foster a love for science.

Responsibilities of Science Teacher:

  • Subject Delivery: Teach engaging and challenging science lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, if applicable), covering biology, chemistry, and physics topics.
  • Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students to achieve their academic potential and develop a genuine interest in scientific subjects.
  • Assessment and Progress: Regularly assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and monitor progress to ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and well-ordered classroom environment that promotes effective learning and ensures student safety during practical experiments.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the science curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners.
  • Parental Communication: Provide updates to parents and carers on student progress and areas for improvement.

Requirements for Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in a relevant science subject (biology, chemistry, physics).
  • Strong knowledge of the secondary science curriculum and ability to teach a variety of topics confidently.
  • Ability to create engaging lessons and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a commitment to building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
