We have an exciting opportunity for a recent Civil Engineering Graduate to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.

The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and a fantastic opportunity to begin your engineering career alongside the support offered from our vastly experienced team.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfaction
  • Assist in planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant and material resources
  • Implement operational quality control measures and QA processes
  • Develop work plans, method statements and risk assessments
  • Monitor the progress of project works
  • Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in place
  • Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project
  • Attend regular meetings with the client to discuss and appraise performance
  • Ensure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed
  • Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard
  • Conduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values
  • Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
  • Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake .

Who we're looking for

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Be able to demonstrate practical experience from construction or similar transferrable skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferable
  • IT competent in Microsoft packages
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Effective planning and organisation skills
  • A structured approach to problem solving
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and technical skills
  • Knowledge of the relevant legal and safety regulations

Other Requirements:

  • Eligible to work and live in the UK.
  • Flexibility to travel in the UK.
  • A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK

  • Hours of work are 7.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
