Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are in the position to recruit a Matron to work within the fast pace Crisis Response Service (CRS) offering a community response to those experiencing a mental health crisis.

The Emergency Response Coordinator is responsible for providing senior clinical leadership and advice within the Crisis Response Service. As a specialist practitioner the role requires the post holder to provide senior clinical leadership and day to day coordination of clinical practice to support the effective delivery of care across the Crisis Network.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible to the Service Manager of Inpatient and Emergency Care, Mid and South. The post holder will be responsible for the management of a clinical area, providing leadership, supporting staff and working collaboratively with Consultants Psychiatrist, other grades of Doctors, Allied Health Professionals and Social work Practitioners to provide and deliver a high quality and safe care.

It is a requirement that the post holder will work proactively with other services such as police, ambulance and other partnership agencies to ensure effective outcomes for those in accessing the service.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will ensure that systems of care are in keeping with best practice and evidenced based.

Enable staff to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care with their patients, integrating Clinical/Practice interventions into a care package devised with the Multi-Disciplinary Team.

Use expert knowledge and experience when supervising staff and making decisions. Demonstrate consistent and clear decision making process underpinned by relevant theory.

To oversee and manage the Mental Health Joint Response Vehicle to incorporate a Mental Health professional working alongside an EEAST clinician.

To enable and empower Team Leads to effectively manage the day to day operational issues of the Crisis Response Service across the Mid and South.

RMN or equivalent professional qualification Qualification at degree level or equivalent In-depth knowledge of Crisis Working

Essential

Extensive experience in leadership role Experience in of working closely and developing relationships with senior medical nursing social and clinical staff Experience in developing relationships and working in partnership with statutory agencies at a management level Extensive knowledge and experience of organisational development Skills in motivating staff Ability to empathise with clients, carers and families and colleagues, ensuring that effective communication is achieved. Knowledge of relevant legislation Skills in analysing service, organisational and staffing issues.
