As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing high quality of education, care and life experiences for young people with a range of special educational needs. It is one of the most rewarding jobs you could have and we have the perfect opportunity for you


 

We are currently working on behalf of an incredible SEN school in Tiverton that is committed to supporting young people aged 11-16 with autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health needs.

About the role:


 

  • You must hold a Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent. 
  • Previous experience working in a SEN setting is beneficial, however, it is not a requirement
  • Have high expectations of children and young people with a commitment to helping them reach their full potential
  • Communicate effectively and sensitively with students, staff, parents/carers and the wider community 
  • You have have a good understanding of the needs of young people and the key factors that affect their learning and development
  • Create structured activities that engage and motivate learners to advance their learning
  • Work alongside class teachers and provide other classroom support
  • You must be able to lead the class in the absence of the class teacher
