As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our mission is to connect compassionate and skilled individuals with schools where they can make a real difference.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your Responsibilities will be:

  • Assisting class teachers in conducting lessons and managing the classroom environment.
  • Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and social interaction.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs, providing tailored assistance to help them overcome challenges.
  • Participating in team meetings and contribute to the planning and review of student support plans.
  • Fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment in line with the school’s behaviour management policy.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, the main requirements will include:

  • Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEMH students, is preferred.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
