London, United Kingdom Barts Health NHS Trust Full time

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within London's world class Major Trauma System for Practitioner Psychologists who will support the delivery and operationalisation of an integrated model of physical and psychological care for victims of trauma at the Royal London Hospital.

The post holder will also work with counterparts in the other Major Trauma Centres to ensure there is an equitable system across London, including during and post major incident. The project is funded for two years, after which either substantive funding will be created or alternative employment will be provided for the Band 7, 8a and 8b or 8c post within Barts Health NHS Trust. The Band 4 posts are fixed term for 18 months.

The focus will be on the implementation and maintenance of this new integrated model within the trust, putting patients at the heart of this transformation, but also working in collaboration with similar roles across the London system to establish good lines of communication and system wide governance. Ongoing evidence gathering and evaluation will be key to enable discussion with local and national commissioners around the benefits of long term and wider implementation. We are aiming to recruit to a Band 8a Practitioner Psychologist for maternity cover as part of the project team.
