Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer - electrical with a background in Nuclear on a permanent basis, to be located in Bridgewater, Somerset.
Accountabilities
- Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
- Manage a set area within the Balance of Plant (BOP) on the project.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, to drive the project to support the safe delivery of the areas on time, to the right quality to the highest safety standards.
- Ensure the appropriate deliverables are produced on time to ensure no delays to construction activities.
- Ensure Configuration Control is maintained across the scope Works Information.
- Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Raise technical queries and monitoring progress.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in construction or mechanical or electrical engineering,
Or HND/HNC electrical engineering (desirable)
Minimum 5 years' experience working in a Major Project Engineering role
- CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport
- Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.
- Professional accreditation (preferred).
- Navis Works knowledge (desirable)
- Knowledge of NEC ECC Contract is desirable.
- Competent in basic IT packages
Experience
- Proven experience of safely delivering large scale construction or engineering projects.
- Experience in the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial as is experience in working within a Joint Venture or Alliance environment.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
