The Role

Job Overview

As a Director of Arm’s Automotive AI & Ecosystem Program department, you will hire and lead a new function in the Automotive business unit that is responsible to create demand for and seed the ecosystem with exciting new AI capabilities for Arm’s IP portfolios (CPU, GPU, NGP, …). This role reports into the exciting and newly formed Automotive Software & Solutions department, a team that is crafting innovative Automotive solutions across Arm's ecosystem.

As the leader of this team, you will have an outbound function that handles software partner engagements, collaboratively defines lighthouse Automotive-specific applications with partners while also cultivating strategic relationships within said communities. You will also have an inbound, technical team that will define vertically integrated use cases, demos, porting guides, libraries, framework optimizations and overall user experiences with Arm software and hardware solutions. Said solutions will likely have dependency on Arm’s Compute Subsystems for Automotive while also maximising usage of the innovative Scalable Open Architecture for the Embedded Edge (SOAFEE) project and it's associated channel ( Solutions will leverage Arm’s ISA Parity and cloud to edge strategy which includes several creative use cases for software consumers.

Responsibilities:

Using your technical background and skills, direct a team of 3 or more people. Using your influence skills, indirectly lead your colleagues and peers to new ways of thinking about how Arm introduces products and capabilities. Build strong, positive relationships, in the community and across Arm. Work in a distributed team, across several time zones and entities.

Required Skills and Experience:

MS CS or equivalent degree 10+ years expertise with embedded software, on Arm or other relevant architectures. Expert understanding of AI tooling and low-level workings of GPU and associated AI computing platforms. Expert understanding of Arm or similar CPU, GPU and NGP architectures and the programmability of them. Good understanding of modern developer services and workflows such as DevOps and CI/CD Comfortable acting as an agent of the company across technical industry forums. Proficient in productivity tools, including requirements and task management tools used by software engineers such as JIRA, Trello and GitHub. Experience working in large, community driven software projects. You have a deep understanding of open-source practices, communities and technologies, balancing the internal needs of Arm with those of the community. Experience building or using industry standard programmer's interfaces. Expert understanding of Tensorflow, PyTorch, Apache TVM, or comparable inference frameworks. Expert understanding of AI training, quantization and visualization tools. Proven experiences with LINUX. Comfortable presenting technical topics to both technical and non-technical partners. 10+ years developing software applications for Automotive applications, ideally with functional safety or mixed criticality requirements.
