We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Advisor to lead work with whānau, hapū, iwi, Māori organisations and communities within the Hastings region
Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
As a Senior Advisor you will be the champion and promoter of the Te Puni Kōkiri investment strategy to enable better outcomes for Māori. Working alongside and supporting your region you will form long term relationships while understanding the context of your region. This includes:
Supporting the region to deliver on the work programme Supporting the Regional Director and Team Leader to build a strong presence for Te Puni Kōkiri in the region to support the implementation of Government policies Provide mentoring and coaching to Advisors within the region Manage the flow of information between Māori and the Policy puni for programme evaluation\Manage local level provider contracts including reporting and funding approvalsThe midpoint of this role is $115,743 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you:
Have experience working with whānau, hapū, iwi, Māori organisations and communities. Have a high level of understanding of the Machinery of Government, public service and public sector processes. Understand the rationale and mechanisms of government intervention i.e. reasons for government intervention, the available intervention mechanisms and alternatives to government interventions. Commercial experience with keen analytical skills and the ability to identify and support possible growth opportunities. Ability to identify, build and actively manage significant relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences. Are comfortable working in a te ao Māori environment and are comfortable in a kaupapa Māori environment. Have a broad understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi and Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and recognise the importance of the Treaty from both Māori and Crown perspectives. A level of competency in te reo Māori, or a willingness to learn. Clean full drivers licence.Tāu e whai ai | What you will get in return
