Main duties of the job

To work with the CEO, Operatios Manager and Board to realise the clinical vision, ensure patient safety and service effectiveness with oversight of all clinical operations/activities.

Accoutable to the CEO and Board for clinical governance and standards of clinical care and in particular to ensure that appropriate assurance and management processes are in place to fully comply with the CQC/GDC/NHSE requirements.

Providig the Board with the full range of clinical service qualitative and quantitative metrics to demonstrate full compliance against the wide range of performance indicators.

To esure clinical performance and professional development needs are addressed and that the culture of a learning, innovative organisation delivering high quality clinical services permeates throughout the organisation, with specific focus on:

GDC registrat employees and locums

Foudation Dentists and Foundation Therapists

Secodees and honorary contract staff

To esure that effective mechanisms are in place to implement systems and monitor organisational learning from untoward incidents occurring within the social enterprise or from other health care providers.

Workig with the CEO and Operations Manager, foster an open and inclusive style of management, encouraging team working and good working relationships.

To develop ad maintain a deep knowledge of the clinical landscape, inform service expansion opportunities and support wider recruitment of a talented workforce.

Work collaboratively with primary ad secondary care dentistry, unitary authorities, voluntary sector and other NHS and non-NHS stakeholders for the promotion and development of services across the CIC portfolio.

To build a strog external image of clinical excellence for the organisation and create opportunities to enhance the profile of the social enterprise and its services, ensuring high social responsibility.&bsp;

To work with the CEO, Board, ad the University to provide effective clinical advice to aid and inform the tailored development of the CIC strategy to meet the corporate needs.

To carry out ay other duties which are commensurate with this grade and role.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

Current GDC registration Additional Masters level qualification in a Dental Discipline (or able to demonstrate equivalent experience) Active performers number (or ability to be put on Performers List) Extensive knowledge of dental governance system in England and working knowledge of NHS E dental care commissioning. Contemporaneous experience of delivery in primary dental care setting essential Ability to take a broad-based view of issues and events, and have an understanding of their longer-term impact or wider implications Ability to formulate clinical strategies and clinical standards, to create new and realistic approaches to population health management and to motivate and inspire the CIC dental workforce Ability to translate strategies into operational activities and measurable outcomes of success Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with key stakeholders and to facilitate the CIC goals Ability to influence or persuade others to gain acceptance or agreement of ideas and approaches Experience of managing and developing personnel including appraisal, performance and recruitment Experience of conflict resolution & handling complaints

Desirable

Experience of working in a clinical management capacity in a Community Dental Service An appreciation of the complex political dental environment
