Newly Qualified Salaried GP (PCN ARRS role)- 6 sessions

Fixed contract up until 31st March 2025 with potential for extension. 6 Sessions: 2 sessions on Friday essential, other 4 session dates negotiable. Candidates MUST have the right to work in the UK, we are not able to offer sponsorship for this position.

Followingthe announcement of the new ARRS GP role available to PCNs, Leeds StudentMedical Practice and The Light Surgery Primary Care Network are looking for anenthusiastic, newly qualified GP to join their team on a fixed term basis until31st March 2025. This role will be part of the PCN additional rolesreimbursement scheme (ARRS) and will have the potential to be extended beyondMarch pending NHS funding arrangements and guidance.

The role will be based atLeeds Student Medical Practice and The Light Surgery (both located in Leedscity centre). You will be requiredto work at both sites for this role, 2 days at LSMP and 1 day (Friday) at The Light Surgery.

Tobe eligible for this role, you must have qualified within 2 years (after 30thSeptember 2022) and must NOT have had substantive employment within a GPpractice.

Main duties of the job

Main Responsibilities:

Provide face-to-face and telephone consultations for routine and urgent care. Conduct patient home visits (low frequency) Manage patient care in surgery, including investigating and reviewing results, developing care plans, and making referrals to secondary care or other providers. Issue and sign repeat prescriptions, ensuring they align with national/local guidelines. Administer and handle patient-related queries, test results, referral letters, and other tasks in a timely manner. Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes using EMIS and S1 clinical systems. Ensure safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective care, in line with Practice disease management protocols and NICE guidance. Independently prescribe medications within your scope of practice. Review and manage patient medications following appropriate policies and local clinical guidelines. Utilise other available clinical and support staff in delivering a holistic and patient centred care. Actively participate in MDT and care conference meetings, as required. Participate in on-call duties on a pro-rata basis, if required.

Clinical Duties:

Regularly screen for lifestyle factors and support patients in adopting health promotion strategies and self-care principles. Contribute to the delivery of anticipatory care plans.

Professional Development:

Maintain awareness of clinical practice developments. Attend weekly huddle meetings, Friday Lunchtime training and clinical meetings Participate in an annual performance review and take responsibility for personal development. Engage in mandatory training and attend courses as needed.

Team Collaboration:

Provide clinical support and guidance to both clinical and administrative staff to maintain the highest care standards. Collaborate with health and social care providers to deliver an integrated, safe service.

Risk Management and Compliance:

Adhere to all practice policies and procedures, including those related to prescribing, confidentiality, and data protection. Apply infection control measures and manage risks in compliance with local and national guidelines. Contribute to clinical governance through audits, peer reviews, and significant event analysis.

Patient Safety and Confidentiality:

Ensure patient and carer confidentiality, in line with practice policies. Manage patient data securely, only disclosing it to authorised persons.

The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the PCN as part of this employment, such training to include:

The post-holder will assist in promoting and protecting against any safeguarding concerns relating to Children and Adults, to include:
