An exciting opportunity has arisen for a B6 OTat Wharfedale Recovery Hub. Wharfedale Recovery Hub provides rehabilitation forpeople who do not need to go into or remain in hospital but cannot be cared forsafely at home. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic OccupationalTherapist who will provide person-centred rehabilitation to adults within therecovery hub before going home.

Our varied interventions include managing long-term conditions, preventingfalls, and facilitating hospital discharges, allowing you to develop a wide andvaried skillset. You will work holistically, using health coaching andself-management approaches whilst working towards the patients goals. You willwork as a team drawing on each others strengths and delegate or signpost toother professionals as required.

Main duties of the job

Youwill work to deliver and facilitate rehabilitation to enable patients to managetheir own goals, maximizing opportunities to live a fulfilling life. You willwork closely with patients and their families in the assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation of programmes of treatment and/or care by usingperson-centred techniques to promote a culture of involvement and empowerment.You will aim to improve recovery and increase independence as much as possibleby working as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the patients goals.

Job Purpose

The post holder will beresponsible for their own caseload within their speciality area as anautonomous practitioner. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver andevaluate patient centred programmes of care to a specialist level ensuring thatthey practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holderwill work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance atall times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence basedtheoretical and practical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical

Demonstrates a detailed theoretical andpractical knowledge of common aetiologies, pathologies, conditions andpresentations involving a critical understanding of theories and principles

Demonstrates innovative and specialist skills toselect methods and tools to holistically assess, plan, implement and evaluatein a complex and specialised field of work.

Demonstrates highly developed physical skillswhere dexterity and accuracy are important syringe pumps and infusions,manual treatments

Makes consistent judgements requiring complex factanalysis, interpretation and comparison of options and ensures clinicalreasoning is reflected accurately in case records

Engages and actively involves the individualand, if appropriate, their family/carer, in the assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation of programmes of treatment and/or care by using person-centredtechniques to promote a culture of involvement and empowerment
