A highly reputable secondary school in Slough is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their successful and vibrant science department on a permanent basis from September 2024. This role comes with a TLR (Teaching and Learning Responsibility) and offers a fantastic opportunity for career development within a supportive school environment that is committed to fostering educational excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across the science curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to contribute to A-Level teaching. As a teacher with TLR, additional responsibilities will include leading a specific area within the science department, such as curriculum development, student progress, or extracurricular science clubs, to enhance the learning experience and outcomes of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality science lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to support individual needs.
  • Take a leading role in a designated area within the science department, driving improvements and innovations.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching resources and schemes of work.
  • Participate in and organize departmental meetings, training, and development sessions.
  • Engage actively in professional development and performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive learning environment and uphold school values.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A degree in Science or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering strong educational outcomes in Science.
  • Experience in a leadership role within an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to motivate and achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
