Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting students with special needs?

GSL Education Kent are actively seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for a placement at Client Schools in Gravesend. These schools are committed to fostering a supportive environment where students with special needs can excel. By joining us as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in their development, ensuring a supportive and enriching educational experience.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Plan and execute engaging lessons to the students, tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Offer one-to-one or small group support for students, facilitating their access to the curriculum.
  • Conduct small group interventions to reinforce learning goals effectively.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and managing behaviours.
  • Employ strategies for equitable access to education for students with additional needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to effectively manage classroom behaviour.
  • Champion the progress and development of every student under your care.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Hold the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Possess a driving license and have access to a car (preferred).
  • Meet strict safer recruitment background checks.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate for children.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding.
  • Exhibit adaptability, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with young people from diverse backgrounds.

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
