We are looking to appoint a Research Nurse who is, enthusiastic, motivated, proactive and who will enjoy the challenge of supporting the delivery high quality research.

You will be based at the new Heart Lung Research Institute (HLRI) and Royal Papworth Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of the Research Team, you will be responsible for supporting the set up and coordination of multiple clinical trials. Your duties include recruiting and consenting suitable patients, coordinating data collection, arranging, and conducting assessments, follow up appointments, tests and investigations which are specified by the study protocol.

You will support senior research colleagues in achieving specified milestones in a timely manner and ensure high quality data is collected and that the trial is being conducted according to the ethically approved protocol and ICH-GCP standards.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the senior research nurses/trial co-ordinators with a portfolio of commercial clinical trials including randomised, controlled trials and observational studies.

Experience of working in an NHS or relevant science related environment, including healthcare research. Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams. Clinical Research Experience Experience of interviewing patients Experience of previous patient facing role in a Respiratory Clinical Environment. Clinical skills -- ECG, venepuncture, spirometry. Basic laboratory skills use of centrifuge, pipetting, aliquoting. Experienced in use of databases/database applications. Confident in handling large sets of data.
