Trade Assistant

RMS Recruitment are looking for a Trade Assistant to join their clients’ team based in Middlesbrough.

This is a long-term, temporary role and will be working Monday to Friday on Day Shift (7AM – 3PM). The hourly rate for this will be £14.26 per hour.

In this role, you will be supporting trades with fabrication activitiess in their daily tasks, which includes:

  • To work in accordance with WESL Health, Safety & Environment procedures, policies, and standard working practices.
  • To work in accordance with WESL Quality procedures, policies, and standard working practices.
  • Reading & Interpreting Engineering drawings.
  • Tack Welding fabricated parts in line with company specifications ie (where qualified)
  • Assisting with mechanical assembly
  • Operating saw
  • Operating Rota Broach Drill
  • Grinding
  • Guiding overhead cranes and hoists where trained, for moving and assembling plates.
  • Responsible for cable management, general good housekeeping in working area.
  • Operating Scissor Lift and Cherry Picker where trained to do so.

As an ideal candidate, you should have:

  • Training with Abrasive Wheels
  • Competent in using grinders 
  • Competent in using ROta Broach Drill 
  • Competent in use of saw 
  • Health & Safety Passport or IOSH Working Safely 
  • Able to work independantly or part of a team 
  • Conscientious and attention to detail
  • Open to new methods and improvements

We are looking for candidates who are diligent when handling equipment and experience of operating machinery (MEWPS is desirable but not essential). Full training will be provided for successful candidates.
