Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council for a Legal Assistant Childcare to support the Childcare team with administrative duties.

Are you local to Northampton?

We are looking for candidate with admin experience and someone who has worked in childcare.

Main responsibilities:

  • To assist in the provision of a Legal Service providing legal advice and assistance to the Council.
  • To work collaboratively with all members of the Law and Governance Service to deliver excellent quality services across the full range of functions provided by the legal service.
  • To work with and assist the Lawyers / Senior Paralegals, Senior Lawyers and Principal Lawyers in the progression of complex cases.
  • To ensure all necessary records are kept up to date.
  • To ensure that all Court Bundling is carried out in a timely manner as instructed by colleagues.
  • To conduct research for and generally assist other lawyers in the designated legal team as required.
  • To assist with the preparation of instructions and briefs to Counsel / external legal advisors and the preparation of court bundles.
  • To open new cases onto the Council's legal case management system (IKEN Cloud).
