About you:

Are you a highly skilled and experienced Associate Practitioner (Band 4) looking for a locum role?

Our client at Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their Histopathology Laboratory as an Associate Practitioner, Band 4. Your role will involve supporting the Biomedical Scientists working in the Histopathology Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs a number of healthcare science clinical/technical/scientific activities under supervision, e.g. performs section cutting, special stains, embedding, non gynae preparation.
• Maintains clinical records in relation to activities carried out; may input/interrogate test results of others.
• The work of the service brings staff into constant contact with human body fluids, tissues and hazardous chemicals. This may include blood, pus, urine, faeces, and respiratory secretions.

Essential Qualifications:

We are looking for an experienced Associate Practitioner (Band 4) with:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant Foundation degree, or equivalent.
• Demonstrable knowledge of a range of routine and non-routine healthcare science duties.
• Full UK right to work.
