My clients in North Bucks have an immediaterequirement for a Head of QualityElectronics.

This role is commutable from MiltonKeynes Newport Pagnell St. Neots Biggleswade SandyBedford.

My clients are a world leader in in thedesign manufacture and continuous improvement of wireless conditionmonitoring solutions. Their technology is used in 35 countries inrail construction and mining. More than 30000 sensors wereinstalled last year helping users manage ground and structuralmovement landslide risk geotechnical behaviour rail track movementand much more.

Tasks

MainDuties & Responsibilities:

You will takea lead role in managing the Companys Quality Management System toensure that customers receive product to the highest standard ofquality possible. You will be involved in facilitating successfulnew product introduction through the manufacturing facility. Therole also requires driving continuous improvement throughout theorganisation ensuring that problems are prevented whilst alwaysensuring a customer focus throughout the organisation and ensuringproduct is correctly released to necessarystandards.

This role reports to the Head ofOperations and has the following direct reports: Senior QualityEngineer Junior NPI Engineer and Quality Engineer (includingHSE).

There may be minimal requirement fornational and international travel primarily to undertake supplieraudits evaluation and NCR Fault/Fact Finding.

Responsibilities include although are notlimited to the following:

Provide leadership tothe quality department and team. Manage develop and motivate aneffective Quality team.

Manage all aspects ofOrganisations Quality.

Own and lead the businessECN (Engineering Change Note) Process.

Work withProduction Supply Chain Customer Support Logistics to integrateQuality objectives into business objectives.

Lead coordination with engineering product management andoperations to implement manufacturing plan forproducts.

Own process to monitor status of allnew products and ensure effective execution of projects accordingto required policies procedures and governmentregulations.

Prepare plans for all NPI projectsand coordinate with internal and externalstakeholders.

Maintain a strong relationshipwith Product Management to understand business product roadmap andstatus.

Develop Quality Improvement strategiesfor the Organisation.

Monitor Business Cost ofPoor Quality (COPQ) customer complaints and other Qualityindicators and drive projects to eliminate recurring issues as wellas address special events in order to drive an overallimprovement.

Implement effective process andproduct control strategies such as PFMEA control plans MeasurementSystems Analysis Statistical Process Control Production PartApproval Process Layered Process Audits and Finished Goods auditswhere necessary.

Ensure the auditing system isfit for purpose across the Quality Management System. PerformInternal ISO and Supplier Quality audits as necessary to ensurecompliance with processes policies andexpectations.

Lead and train others to developeffective corrective and preventive actions using 8D and MistakeProofing concepts in response to customer concerns COPQ data orregular product audit results.

Drive Qualityconsistency of procedures across all sites/hubs (UK USA MainlandEurope).

Assist/help maintain all HSE facilityrelated compliance.

Lead participate andfacilitate various continuous improvement events and projects tosupport company goals and objectives. Partake and contribute tocultural change utilising appropriate continuous improvement toolsand methodologies (Six Sigma Mistake Proofing Kaizenetc).

Utilise strong interpersonal skills tocommunicate and engage support for driving COPQ improvement acrossvarious functions and levels within theOrganisation.

Ensure that all process requiredfor the Quality Management System are established implemented andmaintained.

Chairing and organising ManagementReviews with the use of established KPIs to ensure the continuingsuitability and effectiveness of the Quality Management System andto assess any improvement opportunities for the QualityDepartment.

Promote the awareness of customerrequirements throughout the organisation and develop effectivecustomer relations.

Maintain and assist indeveloping systems required for Environmental Regulatorycompliance.

RelevantKnowledge & Experience:

Candidatesshould assess their suitability against the following essentialand/or desirable relevant knowledge andexperience:

Essential:

Demonstrable knowledge and experience in an Electronic EngineeringEnvironment AS9100 ISO 9000 ISO 9001 ISO 13485 TS16949 ISO14001previous Quality Management experience (Automotive &Military Customers Supplier Management) plus having completedsuccessful improvement projects.

Experienceworking in Electronic ManufacturingEnvironments.

Degree educated (preferably inElectrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience inlieu.

Strong influencing skills at a seniorstakeholder.

Desirable:

Demonstrable experience at leading an implementation of QMchange

Black Belt accredited to Lean SixSigma

Experience of leading an improvementproject in customerquality
