Job Title: Senior Analyst/ Associate Director CBRE LendingLocation: London
Role Purpose: The role will sit within the CBRE Lending function of Capital Advisors, the department of CBRE focused on real estate finance advice.

CBRE Lending is retained by 13 investors to deploy a combination of development and investment debt against real estate assets. Clients include pension funds, overseas investors, family offices and government bodies.
The team typically completes 600m of loans per year across a range of geographies and asset classes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual seeking to make a significant impact within a large financial services advisory group.
The primary role will be a key team executing new loan transactions (60%) and managing loans (40%) on behalf of the lending teams retained clients, with the following responsibilities:
Loan Execution (50%)
  • Taking new lending opportunities from terms being agreed to completion.
  • Responsible for whole transaction lifecycle from screening of an opportunity, through due diligence to a successful loan investment.
  • Leading due diligence on underlying property, financial dynamics and borrowers.
  • Negotiating and structuring loans with Borrowers.
  • Presenting transactions for credit committee approval.

Loan Management (50%)
  • Working with borrowers to ensure development loans are successfully managed through the development and repayment phases.
  • Managing drawdowns on a monthly basis.
  • Visit sites to track progress alongside the project monitor for the loan.
  • Reporting on performance to clients and recommending management decisions.
  • Presenting loan management events to committees.


Desired technical, skills and experience:
  • Experience of real estate lending, e.g. from a bank, debt fund or advisory business.
  • Proven ability to lead transactions from terms through to a successful loan investment
  • Experience of investment, value add and development finance lending situations.
  • Due diligence skills: understanding the underlying property, financial dynamics of a loan and borrower analysis. Including experience of writing loan credit papers.
  • Experience of structuring and negotiation of transaction terms.
  • Ability to undertake financial analysis, stress-testing and sensitivity analysis on possible investments.
  • Loan management or development management skills.
  • Relationship management with borrowers.
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of loans during their lifecycle.
  • Able to lead the legal completion of a financing, with support from legal counsel.
  • Ability to focus on deal completion.


Desired background and qualifications:
  • Prior experience eitherreal estate banking, debt funds; or debt brokerage;
  • Experience in development Loans or Loan asset management and/orservicing.
  • Appropriate finance, banking or real estate qualifications of interest.
