The Finance Division is currently undertaking an ambitious multi-year transformation programme, introducing new systems and ways of working through to 2027 and beyond. This has led to new opportunities for multiple Finance Coordinator roles for a period of three years. These roles will either be based within the Finance Division Staff Bureau or within Schools and Departments across the University and will provide cover to enable subject matter experts to be assigned to transformation projects.

The Role The purpose of the roles will be to provide high level financial advice across your allocated area to contribute towards the planning, implementation, and management of departmental finances. You will provide account management services including overseeing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts. You will be required to make an impact within your department by providing instruction on financial procedures, identifying required changes to processes and participation in committee and finance user group meetings.

Duties of the role will also involve:- Management of research grants- Preparation of annual financial submissions- Financial data analysis and advice- Provision of budgetary and planning advice to senior management

Your Skills You will have:- Expert knowledge in financial and accounting practice- Strong project management skills- Experience of Oracle Financials or similar accounting programme- Financial/Accounting AAT or equivalent qualification

Location The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment. The aim of our approach is to enable as many staff as possible to work in a hybrid way if they wish and where their role allows. This arrangement is subject to change and will not form a part of the contractual terms of the role.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a security check.
