Lead Community Carer
Job Description:
We are pleased to announce that Premier Community are now recruiting for a New Lead Community Carer for the Swadlincote area.
This role is based on a full-time contract consisting of 7 shifts over the 5 days, working every other weekend. This role is based on a 3-month probation period (failure to meet probation requirements will result in you returning to your normal area of work within our rotas).
Due to the requirements of this role, staff are paid at the hourly rate throughout the shift rather than “contact time”.
Role Requirements
· Minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or currently working towards this)
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· A good understanding of Premier Community’s policies and procedures
· A good understanding of Premier Community’s systems
· Full, in date Premier Community training and the willingness to complete additional training for this role
· Good attendance, time keeping and flexibility with shifts
Duties include
Stand By
Being readily available to cover care visits at short notice and travelling to all geographical areas service by Premier Community. All standby shifts will be planned within your availability and you will know in advance what days you are on standby.
Employee Spot checks
Completing in depth spot checks on Premier Community employees and submitting these via our systems for Management authorisation. Spot checks will be planned as local to your current working area as possible, again you will know in advance the spot check shifts you have been assigned.
New Starter Meetings
Here at Premier Community, there are several video meetings held with all our new employees prior to them commencing on their Premier Community Journey. From time to time, you may be requested to join in on some of these welcome meetings to engage with the new starters and offer support and advice where needed. Again, all new start meetings you attend will be for new employees joining your local team. These will not be planned in advance all new employees join at different times, you will be approached to join the meeting by your Registered Manager.
Shadowing
You may be required assist our new employees at the start of their journey by working a planned shift within your area and the new starter shadow you, or you shadow the new starter on their first single run.
New Starter Assessments
Along with all premier Community training being complete, all our new employees start on their journey by completing double up calls until the relevant assessments have been carried out and the are signed of as competent in medication and moving and handling. You will be required to complete these assessments as part of your duties, you may be asked to complete these on your spot check shifts or you may be placed on the double up run with the new employee to get these complete.
