We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMR and Youth Offender Institution, a category B Prison located in Doncaster.

Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.

Mon- Sun 08:00 until Weekend on Rota basis Bank Holiday on Rota Basis

Salary £46,200 per annum

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Be responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan. You will contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding. Inspire excellence in your colleagues by pro-actively leading and motivating the team, recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset.

Qualifications required

Registered nurse Mental Health Current professional qualification (NMC) Evidence of Continued Professional Development Experience of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working A non-judgmental and compassionate approach Understanding of mental health policy including clinical governance and the quality and outcomes framework, along with national standards such as NICE
