  • Encouraging Engagement: Motivate students to take an active interest in English, fostering a love of reading and writing. Encourage participation in class discussions, literary activities, and other opportunities to develop their English skills.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to provide a comprehensive support system for students. Attend departmental meetings and contribute to planning and evaluation processes.

  • Behaviour Management: Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring that all students can learn in a positive and focused environment. Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies when necessary.

  • Safeguarding: Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Report any concerns promptly to the designated safeguarding lead.

Requirements:

  • A degree in English or a related field.
  • A passion for English literature and language, with a strong desire to support young people in their educational journey.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively.
