Western Medical Services are seeking professional, skilled and compassionate Ambulance Technicians and Associate Ambulance Practitioners (AAP) to join our team of 'Bank/ADHOC' Ambulance Technicians and Associate Ambulance Practitioners (AAP).

As an Ambulance Technician/Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) within Western Medical Services you will play a crucial role in providing emergency medical care to individuals in need. Job description

Job responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:

Perform the full range of duties in accordance with the company's operational instructions. Assess, treat, and manage patients, referring them to alternative care pathways as necessary. Adhere to national clinical practice guidelines and company-specific guidelines. Work autonomously, following local care pathways and initiatives that promote "see and treat" methods, reducing unnecessary conveyance and emergency department admissions. Modify working practices to meet the clinical needs of patients in primary care settings. Safely treat, refer, or discharge patients accessing the health service who do not require hospital admission with guidance from the senior clinician on call.

Vehicle and driving responsibilities

Operate relevant company vehicles in accordance with emergency vehicle driver training standards, the Highway Code, and relevant legislation. Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections as per company policies. Maintain cleanliness standards for vehicles, equipment, and station, following documentation requirements outlined by the local management team.

Personal Development/CPD

Complete company-provided statutory and mandatory training, as well as continuing professional development (CPD), to ensure fitness to practice. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

IHCD Technician qualification/AAP qualification or other recognised qualifications Good level of spoken and written English language Full driving license with no more than 6 penalty points

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Be committed to deliver excellent patient care. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work as a team and to use own initiative where necessary. Ability to work in a demanding and pressurised environment whilst maintaining a calm and professional approach. A good understanding of safeguarding and equality and diversity.

Driving

Essential

Full UK Manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points

Desirable

Recognised emergency driving qualification (NHS Trust/CERAD/IHCD)
