Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Develop individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities
  • Deliver tailored lessons and activities to enhance students' academic and social skills
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and development

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching or equivalent
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with students with special educational needs

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and strategies for SEN students
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certification in specific areas of SEN support
  • Experience in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, working standard hours with occasional flexibility required
  • Work primarily in a classroom setting, with some one-on-one sessions
  • Regular interaction with students, parents, and educational staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
