Therole:

As aFitter you will, be responsible formaintaining Fugro plant and carry out the manufacture of new buildequipment in our Falmouth Hub Workshop, ensuring all plant is fitfor purpose and HSSEQ issues are eliminated, and any site down timeis reduced.

As a Fitter, youwill be working closely with Fitting shop supervisor/Charge-hand,Workshop Manager, co-workers & Plant supervisors, and siteclients.

The role willinclude duties of:

  • React to sitebreakdowns, provide technical problem-solving solutions to sitepersonnel, identify, and report any defects likely to lead to majorbreakdowns.
  • Assess performance and condition ofplant and machinery, checking for wear and tear and identifyingpotential breakdown and report to supervisor /chargehand.
  • Working with the supervisor to completereports to ensure all progress, downtime, plant, and equipmentdefects are correctly recorded.

Who we're lookingfor:

  • You have in-depthknowledge of hydraulics, and mechanics of new and existingindustrial equipment and plant.
  • You can readdrawings and follow work instructions and communicate with teammembers.
  • You have a minimum of 5 GSCS'sincluding Maths, English at C grade and above, or similarqualification/ experience.
  • BFPA Level 1Hydraulics, NVQ level 2-3, Apprentice trained or equivalenttraining.
  • You have had experience maintainingmarine or plant/drilling/agricultural or similarequipment.
  • Can demonstrate experience ofcomplete overhauls to fault finding on a wide variety of Plant suchas pumps, winches, hydraulic deck cranes, HPU's or agriculturalequipment.

  • You take pride in your work andcomplete projects to a high standard and are a practical hands-onindividual.
