Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a desire to make a difference in the lives of young adults? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant - POST 16 to join a dynamic school in South Shields.

About the Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 16 and above. You will assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons, provide one-on-one support to students, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and supporting students in their learning.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to understand and complete their coursework.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing effective study skills and strategies.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) as required.

Requirements:

  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background.
  • Previous experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with students aged 16 or above,or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young adults.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

To work with GSL Education as a Graduate Teaching Assistant - POST 16, you will need:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
